PRODUCT DETAILS

Go Power! GP-ISW1500 Pure Sine Wave Inverter

The Go Power! GP-ISW1500 converts power from a 12-volt battery system into pure sine wave AC power for appliances and sensitive electronics. It delivers 1,500 watts of continuous output with a maximum surge rating of 2,650 watts.

Use it to power TVs, computers, stereos, and appropriately sized appliances in RV, boat, and mobile power applications. Check appliance input wattage and startup requirements, and keep the total connected load within the inverter's continuous and surge limits.

For installation, select the GP-DC-KIT3 configuration of the Inverter Install Kit for this 12V model. Add an optional ISW Inverter Remote for remote control. Follow the manufacturer's cable sizing and circuit protection instructions.

FEATURES
  • 1,500-watt continuous pure sine wave output
  • 2,650-watt maximum surge rating
  • 12V DC input; selectable 100–120 VAC output
  • Dual GFCI outlets
  • Powersave mode
  • Temperature- and load-controlled cooling fan
  • Overload, short-circuit, voltage, and temperature protection
  • Optional remote control support
  • 2-year warranty
WHAT IT RUNS

Size by the continuous rating and leave headroom for start-up surges. Typical draws: phone/laptop 20–90 W, 32 in TV 50–80 W, CPAP 30–60 W, blender 300–600 W, coffee maker 600–1,000 W, microwave 700–1,200 W (1,000–1,700 W input), hair dryer 1,200–1,800 W. A 1,500 W inverter draws about 139 A from a 12 V battery at full load, so a 100 Ah 12 V lithium bank runs it flat-out for roughly 41 minutes.

FAQ
What can a 1,500-watt inverter run?

Anything whose running watts stay under 1,500 W and whose start-up surge stays under the surge rating. A small microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer on low, power tools, or several electronics at once.

Pure sine wave or modified sine wave?

Pure sine wave is the same clean power as a wall outlet and runs everything — TVs, laptops, CPAPs, induction cooktops, microwaves — quietly and at full efficiency. Modified sine wave is a stepped approximation that is fine for tools, lights and resistive loads but can buzz, run hot or damage sensitive electronics and some chargers. This model is pure sine wave.

Which install kit do I need?

GP-DC-KIT3 (200 A fuse, #2 AWG) or the 175 A breaker kit for a 12 V 1,500 W inverter.

How do I switch it on and off remotely?

An optional remote is supported — check the manual in Documents for the matching remote model before ordering.

How big a battery do I need?

Figure amp-hours from watt-hours: a 1,500 W load for one hour uses about 130 Ah from a 12 V bank. Lithium can be drawn to near empty; AGM should stop around 50%. Keep the inverter within a few feet of the batteries and use the cable gauge from the install kit guide.

Is this a current model?

This is a previous-generation Go Power! inverter sold at outlet pricing while stock lasts. It carries the full 2-year warranty and North American support. The current series are the SSW (hardwire and outlet) and ASW (built-in transfer switch) inverters.

Is Go Power! the inverter installed in my RV from the factory?

Very likely, if your coach is a Jayco, Forest River, Thor or one of many other brands — Go Power! has supplied RV manufacturers since 1996, so these are the same products and the same support team your dealer uses.

What is the warranty?

Two years against defects in materials and workmanship, backed by Go Power!’s North American support team (part of Dometic).
