Lithium Battery settings on the IC Series Remote – Step-by-Step

Billy Slade from System Solutions walks you through how to set up Go Power! lithium batteries with the Go Power! IC Series Inverter/Charger using the IC Series Remote. Lithium batteries need different charging voltages than lead-acid or AGM batteries, so updating these settings is an important step to get full performance and a long service life from your lithium battery bank.

Which Models This Applies To

These settings apply to the Go Power! IC Series Inverter/Chargers (GP-IC-2000-12 and GP-IC-3000-12) when used with the IC Series Remote (GP-ICR-50).

Why Lithium Batteries Need Custom Charge Settings

The IC Series charger includes preset profiles for common battery types. Go Power! lithium batteries charge best with a custom profile, which lets you set the exact absorption and float voltages they need. Using the wrong profile can undercharge the battery or shorten its lifespan.

Step-by-Step: Lithium Battery Setup on the IC Series Remote

  1. Open the Unit Setup menu and press Enter.
  2. Scroll to Battery Type and press Enter.
  3. Select Custom and press Enter.
  4. Set Absorption to 14.4 VDC and press Enter.
  5. Set Float to 14.1 VDC and press Enter.
  6. Set Equalize to 12.7 VDC and press Enter.
  7. Scroll to Final Charge and press Enter.
  8. Set Final Charge to Float and press Enter.

Using a Different Lithium Battery Brand?

The values above are for Go Power! lithium batteries. If you have a lithium battery from another manufacturer, check their recommended charging specifications before you change these settings.
