PRODUCT DETAILS
The Go Power! ASW-3000-12-TS is a UL Listed 3000-watt, 12-volt pure sine wave inverter with a built-in 30-amp automatic transfer switch, for RVs and boats. Plugged into shore power or a generator, it passes AC straight through to your outlets; unplug, and within 20 milliseconds it switches to inverting clean 120V AC (<3% THD) from the battery bank, with 6000W of surge for motor start-up. It is PowerTrak™ compatible, UL Listed to UL 458, and covered by a 2-year warranty with a North American support team.
One wiring job, every outlet live
Because the transfer switch is inside the inverter, you hardwire it once between the shore inlet and the AC panel and never think about it again: the microwave, TV and outlets work the same whether you are at a campground or boondocking. The switch is rated for 30A continuous pass-through and protected by a 30A auto-resetting breaker.
Built to the standard RV manufacturers install
Go Power! has designed mobile power since 1996 and is the inverter brand fitted at the factory by Jayco, Forest River, Thor and other leading RV builders. The ASW series is UL Listed to UL 458, the safety standard written for inverters in vehicles and boats, with input over/under-voltage, reverse-polarity, over-current, short-circuit and overload protection, and FCC Class A emissions compliance. Part of Dometic.
Clean power, efficiently
Pure sine wave output under 3% THD keeps sensitive electronics, motors and medical devices running cool and quiet, and 91% peak efficiency means more of your battery reaches the appliance. A power-saving mode drops standby draw below 0.1A. Add the optional remote switch or the PowerTrak™ display to turn the inverter on and off from the galley.
Part of a system
PowerTrak™ compatibility puts the inverter on the same RV-C network as Go Power! Advanced Lithium Batteries, the Battery Manager Kit and Dometic MPPT solar controllers, so you can monitor load, state of charge and solar input from one screen and adjust the low-voltage cut-off to suit your battery chemistry (programmable 10.0–11.5V).
Which size?
3000W continuous with 6000W surge runs a microwave and coffee maker together, an induction cooktop, or a rooftop A/C fitted with a soft-start, and the 30A transfer switch passes full shore power through when you're plugged in. Pair it with 400Ah or more of lithium. Want the charger built in as well? See the AIC-3000-12-SL.

WHAT IT RUNS
Approximate runtime from a single Go Power! 100Ah Advanced Lithium battery (≈1,280Wh, 90% inverter efficiency). Double it for a 200Ah bank. Add up everything you'll run at the same time and stay under 3000W. On shore power the transfer switch passes through up to 30A, so these limits apply only when inverting.
| Appliance | Typical draw | Runtime on 100Ah lithium |
|---|---|---|
| RV microwave (700–1000W) | 1000W | ≈ 1 hr (6–10 meals) |
| Drip coffee maker | 900W | ≈ 1 hr 15 min (≈ 8 pots) |
| Induction cooktop, one burner | 1500W | ≈ 45 min |
| 12 cu ft residential fridge | 150W avg (600W start) | ≈ 7–8 hrs |
| CPAP (no humidifier) | 40W | ≈ 28 hrs |
| 32" TV + streaming box | 80W | ≈ 14 hrs |
| Laptop charger | 65W | ≈ 17 hrs |
| Blender | 1200W | ≈ 55 min |
| Hair dryer (low) | 1200W | ≈ 55 min |
| Corded drill / circular saw | 1200–1800W | Runs; start-up surge covered |
| Microwave + coffee maker together | 1900W | ≈ 35 min |
| 13.5k BTU rooftop A/C with soft-start | 1500W running / ~2000W start | ≈ 40 min — plan on 400Ah+ and solar |
Not recommended: running the rooftop A/C and a microwave at the same time, electric water heater elements for more than short bursts.

FAQ
What does the built-in transfer switch do?
It automatically chooses the power source. When shore or generator power is present, the inverter passes it straight through to your outlets (up to 30A) and stays idle. When that AC drops, the switch flips to the inverter in 20 milliseconds or less, so the TV, microwave and outlets keep working from the batteries without re-plugging anything.
Does the ASW charge my batteries from shore power?
No. The ASW passes shore power through and inverts from the battery, but it does not include a charger — keep your converter or add a separate charger. If you want inverter, charger and transfer switch in one unit, see the AIC-3000-12-SL Advanced Inverter Charger.
How is the ASW installed?
It is hardwired: shore/generator AC comes into the input terminal block, the output terminal block feeds your AC panel or inverter sub-panel, and 12V DC comes from the battery through a Class T fuse. Because this involves 120V AC wiring, follow the manual and local code, and have an RV technician or electrician do the AC side if you are not comfortable inside a breaker panel.
What can a 3000-watt inverter run in an RV?
A 3000W pure sine wave inverter runs any single RV appliance up to 3000W — microwave, coffee maker, induction burner, blender, hair dryer, residential fridge, TV and laptops — one high-draw item at a time. With 3000W you can run a microwave and coffee maker together, or a rooftop A/C with a soft-start installed. Add up the wattage of everything you'll use simultaneously and stay under 3000W.
What size battery bank do I need for a 3000W inverter?
At full load a 3000W inverter draws about 280A from a 12V bank, so plan on at least 400Ah of lithium for sustained use (Go Power! 100Ah or 300Ah Advanced Lithium batteries), or less for short high-draw tasks like a few minutes of microwave. Lead-acid banks should be twice that size because they only deliver about 50% of rated capacity.
What cable and fuse size does the ASW-3000-12-TS need?
4/0 AWG copper cable, a 400A Class T fuse or breaker on the positive lead, and no more than 10 ft (3 m) per DC cable. The Go Power! Inverter Install Kit (3000W) includes correctly sized cables, fuse block and lugs.
Is this inverter compatible with lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?
Yes. The 10–16.5V input range covers LiFePO4, AGM and flooded 12V banks. With Go Power! Advanced Lithium Batteries it also shares state of charge and low-voltage protection over the RV-C network through PowerTrak™.
What is the difference between pure sine wave and modified sine wave?
Pure sine wave output is identical to household AC, so sensitive electronics, motors, chargers and medical devices run cool and quiet. Modified sine wave is a stepped approximation that can cause buzzing, overheating and shortened life in anything with a motor, microwave magnetron or switching power supply. For a modern RV, pure sine wave is the safe choice.
Can I use this inverter in a 24V system?
No. The ASW-3000-12-TS is a 12V unit. For 24V systems see the Go Power! 24V industrial pure sine wave inverters.
What does UL Listed to UL 458 mean?
UL 458 is the safety standard specifically for power inverters and chargers used in land vehicles and marine craft. A UL Listing means the ASW-3000-12-TS was tested by UL to that standard, which is what RV manufacturers, marine surveyors and many insurers require.
Is Go Power! the inverter installed in my RV from the factory?
Very likely, if your coach is a Jayco, Forest River, Thor or many other brands. Go Power! has supplied RV manufacturers since 1996, and the ASW series is the current generation of that OEM line, so it's a drop-in upgrade path with matching remotes and PowerTrak™ components.
Does it include a remote?
The remote switch is sold separately so you only pay for it if you need it. If you have a PowerTrak™ display, you can turn the inverter on and off and change settings from the display instead.
What's the warranty and who do I call for support?
Two years, backed by Go Power!'s North American support team (part of Dometic). Register your product after purchase; support is available by phone and email, and manuals and quick-start guides are linked above.
