PRODUCT DETAILS

DuraLite panels are not weatherproof and should not be left out in the rain; they are designed for portable, temporary deployment.

The Go Power! DuraLite 100W Portable Solar Kit is an ultra-light 100W folding panel with a built-in 30A lithium-capable PWM charge controller, kickstand legs, USB ports in the handles and a 12 ft lead with battery clamps and sidewall-port adapters. At about 10 lb it is the lightest way to put 100W of solar on the ground: enough to keep a 100Ah battery topped on a weekend, about 25Ah a day flat and 31Ah tilted. Plugs straight into Zamp Solar Ready and Go Power! Solar On The Side ports. 2-year warranty and a North American support team (part of Dometic).

Built to the standard RV manufacturers install

Go Power! has designed mobile power since 1996 and is the solar brand fitted at the factory by Jayco, Forest River, Thor and other leading RV builders. That is why this kit ships with the adapters for the Solar On The Side and Zamp Solar Ready sidewall ports those coaches use, and why its connectors match factory wiring. Part of Dometic.

Light enough to actually use

Rigid folding kits weigh 20–40 lb; DuraLite's fabric-laminated monocrystalline panels fold flat in a canvas bag, weigh a third as much, and set up in under a minute. Magnetic closures keep the cells covered in transit. The USB ports in the carry handles charge phones directly from the panel, no battery needed.

Lithium ready, expandable

The built-in 30A controller has a lithium profile for LiFePO4 batteries as well as AGM and flooded settings, and it has the headroom for 300W of panels. Add up to two DuraLite 100W expansion panels for 300W. The quick-connect leads daisy-chain, so expansion takes seconds.

WHAT IT RUNS

What 100W of solar puts back each day: about 0.3 kWh, or ≈ 25Ah into a 12V battery on a typical flat-mounted day (4.5 peak-sun hours at ~70% of nameplate). Tilt the panel toward the sun and expect ≈ 31Ah. Compare that with what your gear draws:

Typical 12V camping dayDaily draw100W of solar
Storage: parasitic draws of a parked RV≈ 4Ah/dayCovered daily
Weekend basics: LED lights, vent fan, water pump, phone & laptop charging≈ 25Ah/day≈ 98% — covered when tilted or in summer
12V compressor fridge alone, 24 h≈ 50Ah/day≈ 49% — add ≈ 150W or run a generator/shore day
Fridge camp: basics + 12V compressor fridge≈ 75Ah/day≈ 33% — add ≈ 250W or run a generator/shore day
Fridge camp + furnace blower (4 h, cold nights)≈ 100Ah/day≈ 25% — add ≈ 350W or run a generator/shore day
Full comfort: fridge, furnace, CPAP, TV through inverter≈ 140Ah/day≈ 18% — add ≈ 500W or run a generator/shore day

Rule of thumb: match panel watts to battery amp-hours (100W per 100Ah) for a bank that recovers from an overnight draw by mid-afternoon. A lithium battery accepts the full charge current; a lead-acid bank should not be discharged below 50%.

FAQ
What can a 100W DuraLite kit run?

About 25Ah a day flat, 31Ah tilted: lights, fans, pump and device charging, and it keeps a 100Ah battery topped between short trips. Add a panel or two for a fridge.

Does it charge lithium batteries?

Yes. Select the lithium profile on the built-in 30A controller. It also charges AGM and flooded batteries, and portable power stations through their solar input (bypassing the controller).

Why isn't it weatherproof?

DuraLite panels trade the glass and aluminum of a rigid panel for a fabric laminate that weighs a third as much. That construction is for portable, temporary use: deploy it in the sun, fold it away in rain.

DuraLite or the GP-PSK-90?

DuraLite is lighter, lithium-ready and expandable to 300W. The GP-PSK-90 is a glass-and-aluminum rigid folder that is weather resistant (IP52) and lower priced for a single battery.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Unfold the panel, point it at the sun and connect: directly to the battery with the included clamps, to a Zamp Solar Ready or Go Power! Solar On The Side port with the included adapter, or to a portable power station with the appropriate cable.

What is a Zamp Solar Ready port?

A sidewall solar port found on many RVs (often marked Zamp Solar Ready or Solar On The Side). It is wired to the battery, sometimes through a factory controller. Plug a portable kit in and it charges the house battery without opening the battery compartment.

Can I leave it out in the rain?

DuraLite panels are not weatherproof: they are designed for portable, temporary deployment and should be folded away in rain. The GP-PSK-90 and OBSIDIAN® portable kits are weather resistant but should still be stored dry.

Is Go Power! the solar installed in my RV from the factory?

Very likely, if your coach is a Jayco, Forest River, Thor or many other brands. Go Power! has supplied RV manufacturers since 1996, which is why its portable kits ship with the adapters for the sidewall ports those coaches use.

The unit works after 4 hours of troubleshooting by someone who knows electrical issues pretty well. The polarity was reversed on the part that plugs into the camper (looks like factory error). But customer service won’t admit to that or be terribly helpful. We had to disconnect the wires and solder them back together.

Hi Stephanie, we're sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced. We have seen RV manufacturers wire that solar port wrong from the factory. Our panels are tested before they are box. We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along to our team. Next time please contact us directly before you spend extra time trouble shooting. We are here to help. If you need further assistance or a resolution. Thank you for your patience.
