PRODUCT DETAILS

The Go Power! GP-AGM-225-6V is a sealed 6-volt, 225Ah AGM deep-cycle battery in the GC2 golf-cart format — pair two in series for a 12V, 225Ah house bank, or four for 450Ah. Absorbent-glass-mat construction means no watering, no venting and no spills; it is rated for about 650 cycles at 50% depth of discharge and charges from any standard AGM-profile controller or converter. Offered at outlet pricing — brand new with full Go Power! warranty support — while stock lasts.

Built to the standard RV manufacturers install

Go Power! has designed mobile power since 1996 and is the battery and inverter brand fitted at the factory by Jayco, Forest River, Thor and other leading RV builders. Sun Cycle® AGM batteries are the deep-cycle lead-acid option in that line: valve-regulated, vibration-resistant and maintenance-free, built for the charge/discharge duty of a house bank rather than engine starting. Part of Dometic.

Sealed, maintenance-free, mount anywhere

The electrolyte is held in glass-mat separators, so there is nothing to top up and nothing to leak. Install upright or on its side in an unvented compartment, and expect less than 3% self-discharge per month — up to six months in storage before it needs a freshening charge.

Pairs with your existing charging

Charge at 7.3–7.4 V cycle; 6.80–6.90 V float per battery (14.6–14.8 V / 13.6–13.8 V per pair). Any Go Power! or Dometic solar controller, the AIC inverter/charger, or your RV's converter on its AGM setting will do; keep initial charge current under 30A for best life. Size your solar to put back what you use daily and avoid sitting below 50% charge.

Why 6V golf-cart batteries

Two GC2 batteries in series give you thicker plates and more cycle life per dollar than a single 12V battery of the same capacity, which is why fifth-wheel and motorhome builders have specified them for decades. They drop straight into existing GC2 trays and charge on any standard AGM profile. Rebuilding the whole system? Compare the 100Ah Advanced Lithium — more usable energy per battery at a third of the weight.

WHAT IT RUNS

Approximate runtimes from one series pair of 6V 225Ah AGM batteries (12V, 225Ah) discharged to 50%, assuming ≈1,215Wh usable and 90% inverter efficiency for AC loads. Real-world results depend on temperature, load pattern and how fully you recharge. Add solar or shore charging to extend any of these.

FAQ
How much of a 225Ah AGM battery can I actually use?

Plan on 50%. Lead-acid cycle life falls off steeply below half charge, so a 6V 225Ah AGM gives you about 675Wh of everyday usable energy per battery, or about 1,350Wh for a series pair — roughly 650 cycles at that depth versus 350 if you run it flat each time.

Do I need a special charger for AGM?

No. Any solar controller, converter or inverter/charger with an AGM or sealed lead-acid setting works: 14.4–14.8V absorption and 13.5–13.8V float at 25°C (per 12V pair), with temperature compensation if available. Avoid flooded/equalize settings above 15V, which will vent and dry out an AGM.

AGM or lithium — which should I buy?

AGM is the lower upfront cost and charges on the equipment you already have. Lithium costs more per battery but gives roughly twice the usable energy, a third of the weight, three times the cycle life and a 10-year warranty, and it needs a lithium charge profile. If you are replacing one or two batteries in an otherwise standard RV, AGM is a sensible choice; if you are building a system around an inverter or going off-grid regularly, the 100Ah Advanced Lithium pays back in weight and lifespan.

How do I wire two 6V batteries for a 12V RV?

Connect the positive of battery one to the negative of battery two (series); the free negative and positive become your 12V bank terminals. Two GC2 batteries in series give 12V at 225Ah. For 450Ah, make two series pairs and connect the pairs in parallel. Always use matched batteries of the same age and cable gauge.

Can I mount it on its side or inside the RV?

Yes. As a sealed valve-regulated battery it can be mounted upright or on its side (not inverted) and does not need a vented compartment under normal charging. Keep it out of direct heat and leave room around the terminals.

How long will it last?

Cycle life depends on depth of discharge: ~350 @ 100% DoD / ~650 @ 50% DoD / ~1,650 @ 30% DoD at 25°C. In typical weekend RV use, cycled to around 50%, expect four to six seasons; keeping it above 50% and fully recharging after each trip is the biggest factor.

Does it need maintenance?

No watering or specific-gravity checks. Keep the terminals clean and tight, recharge fully after use, and give it a freshening charge if it sits more than six months (sooner in hot storage).

Is Go Power! the battery installed in my RV from the factory?

Very likely, if your coach is a Jayco, Forest River, Thor or many other brands. Go Power! has supplied RV manufacturers since 1996 and its Sun Cycle® batteries are specified across those lines, so this is a like-for-like replacement.

What's the warranty and who do I call for support?

Go Power! warrants its batteries against defects in materials and workmanship for the product's warranty period, backed by a North American support team (part of Dometic). Register your product after purchase; support is available by phone and email.

What does outlet pricing mean?

Brand-new, unused batteries sold below regular price while we clear this stock. Full Go Power! warranty support applies. Quantities are limited and not guaranteed.
