PRODUCT DETAILS

The Go Power! GP-SB-PWM-30-BT is a 30-amp PWM solar charge controller for single-bank 12V systems with up to 600W of panels. It has a backlit LCD showing battery voltage, charge current and state, Bluetooth monitoring through the Go Power! Connect app, selectable profiles for lithium, AGM, gel and flooded batteries, temperature compensation, and a full protection set — in the same surface or flush-mount footprint that RV manufacturers install. 5-year warranty and a North American support team (part of Dometic).

Built to the standard RV manufacturers install

Go Power! has designed mobile power since 1996 and is the solar brand fitted at the factory by Jayco, Forest River, Thor and other leading RV builders. The SB-PWM series is the single-bank controller those plants install on solar-prep and solar-equipped coaches, so it drops into the factory cut-out and wiring — add the flush or surface mount adapter plate if you are replacing an older GP-PWM-30-SQ. Part of Dometic.

Simple, proven charging

Pulse-width-modulated three-stage charging — bulk, absorption, float — with -25mV/K temperature compensation protects the battery from overcharge and keeps it topped without fuss. Battery voltage range 9–16V covers every 12V chemistry; panel input up to 28V means standard 12V-nominal modules wired in parallel.

Watch it from your phone

Built-in Bluetooth connects to the Go Power! Connect app for live voltage, current and daily harvest without walking to the controller — the only PWM controller in the line with app monitoring.

PWM or MPPT?

For one to four 12V panels on a single bank, PWM is cost-effective and dependable. If you are running 300W or more, lithium batteries you want to fill fast, or long cable runs, an MPPT controller such as the GP-RVC-30-MPPT will harvest 15–30% more from the same roof.

WHAT IT RUNS

Sizing guide for a 12V system: a 30A controller handles about 600W of panels. Daily harvest assumes 4.5 peak-sun hours at about 70% of nameplate, which is typical for a flat-mounted RV array. PWM controllers need panels whose operating voltage matches the battery (18–22V 12V-nominal modules) and should be wired in parallel. Use 8 AWG between controller and battery.

FAQ
How much solar can I connect to a 30A PWM controller?

Up to 600W of 12V-nominal panels (18–22V open circuit) wired in parallel — up to six 100W panels or three 200W panels. Do not series-wire panels on a PWM controller; the 28V input limit will be exceeded.

Does it work with lithium batteries?

Yes. Select the lithium battery type on the display for a 14.4V charge and no equalization. It pairs with Go Power! Advanced Lithium and any 12V LiFePO4 battery with its own BMS.

Will it replace my existing Go Power! controller?

Yes. The SB-PWM series uses the same mounting footprint as factory-installed Go Power! controllers; if you are replacing an older GP-PWM-30-SQ, use the flush or surface mount adapter plate to cover the original cut-out.

Does it have Bluetooth?

Yes — the GP-SB-PWM-30-BT connects to the Go Power! Connect app on iOS and Android for live voltage, current and harvest data.

Can it charge two batteries?

No — it is a single-bank controller. For house plus chassis charging, see the GP-RVC-30-MPPT or the Dometic SC-DB-MPPT dual bank controllers.

MPPT or PWM — which do I need?

PWM is a switch: it connects the panel to the battery and chops the current, so the panel runs at battery voltage and you lose the difference. MPPT converts the panel's higher voltage into extra charge current, harvesting 15–30% more from the same panels, and lets you wire panels in series. For one or two panels on a simple 12V kit, PWM is cost-effective; for 300W or more, lithium batteries, or long cable runs, MPPT pays for itself.

Is Go Power! the controller installed in my RV from the factory?

Very likely, if your coach is a Jayco, Forest River, Thor or many other brands. Go Power! has supplied RV manufacturers since 1996 and its PWM and MPPT controllers are the ones specified on factory solar-prep and solar-equipped coaches, so this is the like-for-like replacement or upgrade.

What's the warranty?

5 years against defects in materials and workmanship, backed by Go Power!'s North American support team (part of Dometic). Register the product after purchase.
