The Zamp Solar SCC1011 is a 40-amp, 5-stage PWM solar charge controller for 12V systems that regulates up to 760W of panels and works with lithium, gel, AGM, flooded lead-acid and LTO batteries. Its large digital display shows voltage, current, amp-hours and faults, it mounts on or in the wall, and it accepts the Zamp battery temperature sensor and remote LCD display. Five stages, every chemistry
PWM regulation with five charging stages protects the battery from overcharge, extends its life and blocks reverse current to the panels at night. Select the battery type on the display and the controller applies the right voltages, with the optional temperature sensor compensating in hot or cold weather.
Wakes a sleeping lithium battery
If a lithium BMS has shut the battery down after deep discharge or storage, the SCC1011 delivers the voltage needed to wake it so charging resumes — a common failure point that otherwise means a trip to the shop.

WHAT IT RUNS
Sizing guide for a 12V system: a 40A controller handles about 720W of panels. Daily harvest assumes 4.5 peak-sun hours at about 70% of nameplate, which is typical for a flat-mounted RV array. PWM controllers need panels whose operating voltage matches the battery (18–22V 12V-nominal modules) and should be wired in parallel. Use 8 AWG between controller and battery.

FAQ
How much solar can I connect to the SCC1011?
Up to 760W of 12V-nominal panels wired in parallel — up to six 120W panels. Do not series-wire panels on a PWM controller; array open-circuit voltage must stay under 25V.
Does it work with lithium batteries?
Yes. Select the lithium type on the display. The SCC1011 also includes BMS wake-up: if a lithium battery has shut itself down, the controller supplies the voltage needed to bring it back online.
Will it replace the controller that came with my Zamp kit?
Yes. It uses the same wiring and surface/flush mounting as the controllers supplied with Zamp roof kits and solar-ready RVs. Match the amp rating to your array.
Is Zamp Solar still supported?
Yes. Zamp Solar and Go Power! are both part of Dometic, and genuine Zamp replacement controllers, panels, cables and mounting feet are sold here with North American support.

MPPT or PWM — which do I need?
PWM is a switch: it connects the panel to the battery and chops the current, so the panel runs at battery voltage and you lose the difference. MPPT converts the panel's higher voltage into extra charge current, harvesting 15–30% more from the same panels, and lets you wire panels in series. For one or two panels on a simple 12V kit, PWM is cost-effective; for 300W or more, lithium batteries, or long cable runs, MPPT pays for itself.
